Earlier this Tuesday at the Salesforce Agentforce World Tour Delhi I had an insightful conversation with my colleague Anand Aloor, Head of Inside Sales at dotSolved. It was about how IKEA and its DIY approach changed the way people thought of furniture.
Have you ever tried putting together your new IKEA furniture without getting into the assembly instructions? You could still do it, but chances are that you are left behind with a few screws, and sleeve nuts, or worse, the furniture wobbles after all your hard work.
Just like how assembly instructions guide building DIY furniture, well-defined business processes are crucial for seamless software implementation. There are reasons why I say so.
Enterprise software’s, AI offerings and tool kits are no different. Keeping aside its capabilities and claimed features and benefits, jumping straight into the software without proper alignment to your underlying business processes is detrimental to growth. The results are often the failure to perform at scale, being less efficient and the lack of alignment to outcomes.
The more conversations I have with business leaders, the more convinced I am about how dotSolved’s approach to implementation and managed services makes a huge difference in driving customer success.
Packaged software’s, AI products and tool kits are facilitators and not substitutes for business processes.
At dotSolved Systems Inc., we’ve seen the following happen repeatedly:
- Businesses adopting software and technology without mapping their capabilities with business processes (these are unique to their business).
- Running packaged software without understanding the nuances of operations.
No two businesses are the same. Customers have their own, unique processes that fall outside of software’s predefined workflows.
And this is exactly why we prioritize understanding our customers’ business processes and operational workflows before getting into suggestions, recommendations, implementations and managed services.
How we do it
Before getting into ERP, CRM, RPA, or AI executions, we:
- Deep dive into business operations and workflows
- Identify key processes, gaps and challenges
- Map out daily operational workflows and align with industry best practices
- Customize solutions to fit customer’s specific needs
Implementation happens only after the above.
This business-process-first philosophy is what sets dotSolved apart. It’s why we enjoy exceptional CSAT scores and long-standing client relationships.
Questions to ask before your next big investment
As I always say, before diving into the next big software, take a step back and find answers to the following,
- What are your key business processes, and how do these align with the software?
- What are the problems you’re looking to solve, and what does success look like?
- Is the software you plan to invest adaptable to your future needs?
- Do you have the right people, resources and the industry-specific expertise for implementation and adoption?
Don’t let your software take your eyes off from what really matters – building the foundation for stability, reliability, scalability, innovation and seamless adoption. This is how you prepare your business for a tailored approach towards driving continuous improvement and revenue growth.
